In Memory

Chris Glazer (Neary)

Chris Glazer (Neary)

2-24-22, Christine May Neary, 75

On February 24th, at 5:07 a.m., Christine May Neary left this existence to join her soul mate, Alex, in God’s grace and splendor.

Chris was born December 30, 1946, in Los Angeles, CA, before the family relocated to the Ojai area, where she spent her childhood living in Meiners Oaks.

After graduating from Nordhoff High School in 1964, and getting married, she eventually settled happily in Camarillo in the late ‘60s to raise her family.

Chris was a fun, adventurous, independent woman of many talents. She had a limitless drive to succeed.

Chris sold jewelry and Tupperware to make ends meet, before proudly opening her own beauty service business in downtown Camarillo, called the Facial Frame Etc., which she operated for 15 years.

Chris was probably most happy when the Neary home was full of her children’s friends, sharing laughter, and creating memories.

It’s through these interactions that Chris became “Mom” for what seemed like half of Camarillo’s kids; she was always there for anyone in need.

Chris and Alex built a beautiful home in Costa Rica in 2001, but their plan to retire there was thwarted by Alex’s ill-fated battle with pancreatic cancer, that ended in 2006.

Though Chris fashioned a wonderful life in Costa Rica, filled with many friends and memories, without Alex, there was unmendable loss felt deeply in her soul that she could never quite conquer, and would always privately constrain her joy.

Sadly, Chris was preceded in passing by her husband, her parents, one brother, and one sister, but she was surrounded and loved by four children,

nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nieces, one great-niece and great-nephew, and one sister and brother.

The family will be hosting a service in Chris’s honor on April 2, at 11 a.m., at Sterling Hills Golf Course.

In lieu of flowers, Chris would have loved for you to make a small donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Society https://www.pancan.org
