Vicki Morrow (Kennedy)

Vickie Lynn (Jordan) (Kennedy) Morrow (1946 - 2011)

Oct. 6, 1946 - May 16, 2011

Our loving mother, nana and friend Vickie Lynn Morrow joined her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2011.

Vickie Morrow was born on Oct. 2, 1946, in Phoenix, Ariz. Later, her parents Basil and Vera Morrow and siblings Gary Morrow and Claudia Simpson moved to Ojai, Calif. Vickie graduated Nordhoff High School in 1964. She enjoyed cheerleading, volleyball and participated in many campus clubs. In her senior year she was crowned queen.

Shortly after high school, she married Barton Halloway Kennedy, Sr. She will continue to be loved by her three children and spouses, Barton Halloway Kennedy, Jr. and wife Michelle, Gina Jere Garman and husband Clint and Kimi LeeAnne McKay and husband Brad. Vickie adored her eight grandchildren: Drake and Kaylah Kennedy, Sierra, Orion and Onalyn Garman and Bradley, Kaydin and Hailey McKay. In 1993, Vickie married Valion R. Jordan and they enjoyed 16 years of marriage together until his passing in 2009.

Vickie loved and adored the entire Jordan family. Vickie enjoyed her close friends and missed her time of being a successful realtor in the Ojai Valley. Most of all Vickie loved the Lord. She enjoyed reading her Bible and attended the Church of Christ in El Rio. Vickie was a very caring, loving and giving woman. She freely gave her time, money and talents to anyone she could. We are all better people to have known her and she will be greatly missed.

Her children would like to send a special thank you to all those who lovingly cared for her in the CCU at Community Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.

I attended Vickie's Memorial Services today at Camarillo. She did not suffer and was with her family at the end. I brought the 64 Yearbook and told her family and friends how much she enriched our High School years. Check out pages 68 and 70 in our yearbook since I referred to them at the ceremony. After the ceremony I discovered that Glenda McConnell also attended. Also I placed some special dirt on the coffin for the Class of 64.

I will send Blair the photo of the ceremony.

Vickie always put a smile on my face.  When we were varsity cheerleaders she was always making my laugh.  If I was in a poor mood, she quickly made it vanish.  I wish I could have attended her Memorial today.   Leah Edde Beard
