In Memory

Judith Hodge (Sinnott)

Judith Hodge was born on December 17, 1946, in Los Angeles. She moved to Ojai as she started sixth grade at Ojai Elementary. She loved her years at Nordhoff and was both an outstanding student and athlete. She LOVED wearing her Letterwoman's jacket.

Judi attended Pomona College and graduated with a BS in Botany. She married Terry Sinnott from San Diego, a fellow student at Pomona, in 1968. She went on to get her elementary teaching credential. Judi and Terry had two children, Leslie and John. They built a home overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean in Del Mar.

Judi's adult life was centered around her family and her teaching. She taught 3rd and 4th grades at Frances Parker School in San Diego for many years. She was so beloved as a teacher that a scholarship was established in her name upon retirement.

Judi loved to travel. Some of her favorite distinations were Europe (especially Italy), Russia, and Alaska.

In retirement, Judi relished the time she spent with her four grandchildren.

She passed away on September 17, 2007, after a valiant 22 year battle with breast cancer. She is still sorely missed.

Information provided by Ann Hodge Hall, Judi's sister on 3/22/2009.

Judy was my first girlfriend ... we were both so shy it was painful but it was intensely true and very bright puppy love ... it only comes once, that feeling ... and remains forever ...
