In Memory

Troy R. Helton, Jr.

Troy R. Helton, Jr.

Troy Helton died unexpectedly on June 1, 2015 at the age of 68 .
Troy was born in Santa Paula on January 21, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Pauline Helton.
He attended school in Santa Paula, graduating from Nordhoff High School in 1964. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Paula.
Troy was owner of Troy R. Helton Jr. Heating – Air Conditioning and Electrical in Ventura County since 1966. He enjoyed his job. He also was a volunteer for the Ventura County Search and Rescue team during the 70's. He had many community interests with business commitments. He had also been a member of the Model T Club in Bakersfield.

Troy was an accomplished aviator and delivered aircraft and completed two full trips around the world for Southern Cross. He was a generous individual who loved his family and spent countless hours with his grandchildren. He was a good and loving husband. He and his wife, Joanne, enjoyed traveling throughout their marriage. Troy enjoyed being at his home in Santa Paula and was equally at peace in the family's property in Bakersfield where he could enjoy the outdoors and the time he had there with his dogs and farm animals. We will miss his jokes and laughter. Troy will be truly missed by his family, friends and employees.

Troy is survived by his wife, Joanne, daughter Rommie Carmichael, son Colby Helton stepdaughter, Arlene Prado, (Malcolm) and grandchildren Marca and Ronen Carmichael, Marcus, Alyssa and Marcel Prado, and his two precious dogs Mia and Kona.

"Perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost one shines down to let us know they are happy."

I remember Troy smiling and happy and it sounds like he remained that way and lived a good life helping others. May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort in their time of sorrow.
