My memories of Susan have to include: long talks and letters; listening to her sing and play her guitar at school events; GAA/Letterwomen; curly hair; working at the Frostie (her sister Elaine says she made the best Cherry Phosphate); PROBLEMS; great slumber parties at her house (remember the scavenger hunt for a certain issue of Playboy??); sunlamps/bad results; Rockhounds, of course; and more singing in the choir and Folk Singing Club. Most important though, she was my best friend and I still miss her very much.

I would love to read other peoples memories of Susan.

I remember spending time singing with Susan in our group we sang with.  She, unlike the other girls I sang with, had a tallent of playing the guitar, and piano, so she did not need anyone accompying her or backing her up with music.    She had a really good voice and she also played piano for us in choir.  She was an all around well balanced person who had a good time with life.  She enbraced life, and loved life, and I am sure that is one of the reasons why she decided to become a nurse.  She was a person who helped others in many ways.  I felt bad when I heard she had passed away because she was one person who had to much to give to others, and it just was not fair that her lfie would be taken so young.   I remember her saying to me one day, that I had been an idol of the FCC and I asked her what in the world the FCC was, that I had never heard of it and how was I an idol of the members of it.?.  She told me it was the 'THE FLAT CHESTED CLUB.'  I laughed my head off because I did not like being that way at all because it was hard to find clothes to fit right and they got in the way.  She said, "well, like it or not you were one of our idols."  She said it with a twinkle in her eye, and those dimples of hers enhancing her pretty smile.  She was quite a girl, woman and nurse I am sure.
